Cookie notice

This notice lists every cookie and every piece of browser storage palmye.com uses, what each is for and how long it lasts. It is part of the Privacy notice.
1. Always on
These are needed for the site to work. They are set without asking, because the site cannot function without them, and they cannot be switched off.
Session cookie. Keeps you signed in. It holds a random secret, not your identity; the secret is stored on our side as a hash. It lasts until you sign out or for 30 days.
esim_locale. Remembers the language you chose. One year.
esim_country. Remembers the country your connection resolved to, so the site does not have to look it up on every page. It decides whether we may sell to you from where you are and which destination the home page features. Seven days, or one hour when the country could not be determined.
esim_market. Set only when you reach the site through one of our ads shown in Australia. In Australia a bare $ means the Australian dollar, so this makes prices in US dollars read explicitly as US$. Once you sign in, the country in your account applies instead. 90 days.
esim_consent. Remembers your answer to the cookie banner, so you are not asked again. One year.
Stripe. When the payment form is shown, Stripe sets its own cookies in its payment element to detect fraud and to make the payment work. They are Stripe's, are required for paying by card, and are described in Stripe's own cookie policy.
2. Only with your permission
These are set only if you chose to allow analytics on the cookie banner. Until you answer, nothing is written to your device for measurement, and if you decline, nothing ever is.
Analytics. We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to see which pages are viewed and which steps of a purchase are completed. It stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, and once you have an account it links that identifier to your account's own identifier, never to your e-mail address. Up to one year. There is no session recording and no heat map.
esim_attr. Remembers which page or campaign first brought you to the site and the most recent one that did, so we can see what works. 90 days.
We use no advertising cookies. If you have given permission, and only then, we tell Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising when a visit that came from one of their ads ends in a purchase: we send them the click identifier their ad added to the link, the time and value of the purchase and our reference for the order, and nothing else. Purchases made in our iPhone app are never sent. See section 4 of the Privacy notice.
3. Changing your mind
Clear the site's cookies in your browser and the banner asks again. Withdrawing consent stops measurement from that moment; it does not undo what was already recorded, which you can ask us to delete under the Privacy notice.
4. Changes
If the cookies we use change, this notice changes with them and, where new consent is needed, the banner asks again.
